MINI EXCAVATING |
HISTORY In 1979, I followed in my father's footsteps when I started a logging business of my own. In the ensuing years I have gained experience in
the building trades and road maintenance. In the early 90's I bought a big track excavator and started digging ponds, cellar holes, ditches, etc. It was about
that time the name Sand Hill Logging & Excavating came into being. In March of '97 when a serious accident in the woods left me with a broken back and ribs,
I started listening to my wife's concerns about logging. We decided to try to phase out the logging business. After twenty years in the business that isn't as
easy as it sounds. Three years passed. In June of 2000 I bought a mini-excavator to go with my skid-steer. The skid-steer was purchased two years before to sort
logs with. I have used this combination for two seasons now and am still surprised and impressed at what can be done with this combination of small machines.
